• Dosage may, if needed, be further increased in 5 mg increments per week up to 20 mg per day.
• Do not exceed 20 mg per day.
• For best results tablets should be taken at the same time each day.

And extended-release tablets for otherwise healthy children age 5 and up:

• Start with 5 mg once per day.
• Dosage may be increased in 5 mg increments per week up to 15 mg per day.
• Do not exceed 15 mg per day.

As mentioned above, young children are often reluctant to swallow whole tablets. Using fast-acting tablets---which can be crushed and mixed in soft foods---or getting an oral solution instead of tablets may be advisable.

Most patients notice a reduction of symptoms within one week of starting treatment, and results should be maximized by week two. If the medication is not providing significant benefit by the end of two weeks, a doctor should be consulted as to alternative therapies.

Warnings & Side Effects
